Overview
A quiet retreat where water, wellness, and landscape become one
Set at the edge of a quiet pond in an undisclosed Southern California valley, Springs of Life House is conceived as a place of restoration, reflection, and deep connection to the natural world.
The architecture follows the curve of the water, settling gently into the land with a low horizontal form, planted roof, warm timber structure, and panoramic openings that keep the landscape as the central presence. Inside, a sunken circular gathering room creates an intimate space for conversation, ritual, and retreat, while the surrounding glass frames the pond, meadow, oak canopy, and distant mountain ranges.
The project explores longevity through elemental experiences: morning light over water, clean air, quiet movement, nourishing food, wildlife, and the calming rhythm of the surrounding ecosystem. More than a house beside a pond, it is a sanctuary centered around water as the source of renewal, vitality, and life. The broader ranch vision includes regenerative agriculture, wellness programming, community gathering, spa experiences, and Blue Zone inspired approaches to health and daily living.
